The green island of Lesbos is a popular summer resort without being too busy. This is where the 7th century BC poetess Sappho lived, as well as Alcaios, another ancient poet and allegedly Sapphos lover. Lesbos (Λέσβος) is a prefecture of Greece, part of the periphery North Aegean.
