マウント不要のコンパクトライト。固定はベルトを巻きつけて引っ張るだけなので、ハンドルの太さに関係なく取り付けられる。前照灯としての明度は不十分かもしれないが、被視認性は十分。

絶縁テープが入っていなかったので、在庫中に電池が完全に消耗してしまっていた。パッケージには「付属の電池は動作確認用なので所定の時間使えないことがあります」と断り書きがあるが、動作確認にすらでならなかった。内蔵電池をセットしたまま出荷する場合は絶縁テープをはさんでおくべきだ。
-100円ショップのLEDテールランプ
LEDが3つ入っていて、二つの点滅パターン（一つずつ順に光る、3つが同時）と点灯が選べる。単三電池2本は付属しないが、100円では文句はない。単三充電池も使えるので経済的だ。本体が単三電池2本を収納する電池ボックスを兼ねているので仕方が無いが、無骨なデザインでロードバイクには似合わない。
なんと、自転車に取り付けるとき角度を微調整しようとしたら「メキョ」っという音とともに固定ねじの穴の周りが破損してしまった・・・１回どころか、つけて１メートルも走らないうちに終わるというのは・・・さすがというべきか・・・
LEDライトは全て点灯と点滅が選べる。輝度の低い白色ライトの点灯は、街灯や家の照明器具にまぎれてしまいやすい。点滅のほうが点灯時間が少ない分電池の消耗が少ないので、前後ともに点滅で使用。

息子のGIANTほどは心配しなくてもいいだろうと思うので、鍵は原付用の太目のワイヤーロック・長短2本。1本は50cmくらいの長さでこちらは駅の自転車置き場リザーブ用。もう一本は25cmくらいで持ち運ぶもの。長い方で固定物とフレーム、リアタイヤに通し、短い方でフレームと前輪をつないで運用。
駅にワイヤーロックを置いておくというのは、ほかの自転車ツーキニストも使っている技で、何本かがぶら下がっているから面白い。私のほかにも、２台のドロップハンドルの自転車が同じように止めている（スタンドがないから置ける場所は限られているのだ）。

カゴが付いていないので、荷物は背中に背負うしかない。これまで使っていたデイパックはバイクでは問題は無かったが、自転車では背中が蒸れる。ロードバイクでは、前傾姿勢が強く背中とパックの間に遊びができないから唯でさえ体温が上がって汗をかいているのに逃がすことができないせいだ。
息子の willson のバッグは背中にあたる部分がネットになっていて、パックの背面に埋め込まれたバネとのテンションで隙間ができている。一度借りてみたら背中の熱がかなり軽減された。
そこで、ネットで同様のパックを探してみたら、deuterというメーカーのものが目に付いた。このメーカーには、バイク用モデルというのもあったが、ネットが広いものの効果は確認済みなので、「ドイター フューチュラ22SL」にするつもりだったが、22Lもの容量は不要であることに気づいて保留。

ロード自転車にはサスペンションはない。唯一の弾性体はタイヤだが、8kg/cm^2というような高気圧のタイヤにはクッションとしての役割は期待できない。シートも薄くて乗り心地は後回しだ。このため、ロード自転車乗りはパッド付きのズボンというのかスパッツ状のズボンをはく。しかし、一般人がゆるゆると走るのにあのパンツはちょっと気後れする。
そこで、購入したのは短パンのようなパッド付きハーフパンツ。股間に大きなパッドが入っている。これでかなり衝撃から股間を守ることができる（に違いない）。

バイクに乗るときは夏でもグローブをするのが習慣だ。もしもの転倒のときにダメージが全然違ってくるし、普段でも振動で手がかゆくなることを防いでくれる。
バイクのようなエンジンの振動はないが路面からの振動はSR400よりも厳しいのがロードバイクだ。そこで、手のひらのダメージを防ぐために手袋は必須だと言うことを思い知らされた。ぱっと見は、オフロード用の夏用グローブの指を切っただけのようだが、手のひらにゲル状の衝撃吸収材を内蔵したパッドが入っている。
サンデーライダーで、遅くても手袋はしたほうがいい。
***ヘルメット [#w2ac2495]
安全を語るときに頭部の保護は何より重要だ。こんなちゃちなヘルメットでどれだけ保護できるかは未知数だが、ないよりははるかにマシだろう。現在物色中。
